House Addition

The project began with the acquisition of a 1950s Sears Kit House, which required extensive renovation due to the lack of running water and septic system.

Phase One involved the installation of a new kitchen and the addition of a bathroom, one bedroom, and a small living area, totaling approximately 600 square feet.

Phase Two started with preliminary sketches and involved adding a Greek Revival-style structure designed to reflect the local architectural vernacular. This new building featured 10-foot-high ceilings and an open layout, divided by a staircase into dining, living, and office areas, complete with a fireplace. The sloping property allowed for an additional 300 square feet, resulting in an entertainment room with a screened-in porch below. The upper floor included three more bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
